Yesterday, I was driving back from New Bern and, about 10 miles outside the city, I noticed a sign on US 70. “Watch for bears” it said. BEARS?? The road is flat and staight as an arrow, literally dwindling in the distance. Deer I would understand , but BEARS? I think of bears as something you find in the mountains, not in the coastal plain. huh…
